Position: Full-time or Part-time
Overview: The Garden Center Sales Associate contributes to meeting sales goals by naturally engaging the customer on common interests in gardening, as well as sharing plant and product knowledge and care.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and offer assistance to every customer
- Exceed customer expectations by suggesting combinations of plants based on customer’s needs, offering care tips and overall advice for successful gardening
- Learn current and correct information about plants, plant care and planting procedures from department managers
- Uphold all visual and operational standards including maintaining a clean and organized sales floor and restocking, pricing and watering as necessary
- Work with other team members to complete tasks and goals
- Deliver a smooth shopping experience for each customer from entrance to checkout
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Naturally build genuine relationships with customers over common interests in gardening and plants
- Must have a friendly and outgoing personality
- Show strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Must have a passion for plants and a desire to learn
- Exhibit outstanding customer service skills
Requirements
- A general knowledge of gardening in the lowcountry is preferred
- Willing and able to work outside during all weather conditions
- Must be able to work standing and/or moving 100% of the day
- Flexibility during holiday busy times and on Saturdays
- Must be 16 or older
